Forbes started publishing these figures since 2000 and uses four metrics to measure the ranking: sales, profits, assets and market values. It is a billionaire club with 2000 members. It is a good way to see world public companies performance and plotting these companies on the world map will show the better picture of the economy. Below are the quick figures of top five countries based on their total number of companies present in 2000 lists. There is another magazine called the Fortune which does the ranking of 500 world companies.
Still USA rule the chart with 49 percentage out of 1153 companies (top five countries) and 28 percentage out of 2000 companies. In last 10 years China has changed it’s economy shape and holds 18 percentage out of 1153 companies and 10 percentage out of 2000 companies. Japan still hold the second position with 20 percentage out of 1153 companies and 11 percentage out of 2000 companies.
Top five countries: United States, Japan, China, United Kingdom and France holds 58 percentage out of 2000 companies and remaining 42 percentage of 2000 companies is hold by 57 countries. There were 62 countries for 2014 Forbes Global 2000.
